Before learning to drive on public roads there are some basic requirements that everyone needs to meet.

Eyesight requirements when learning to drive.
You must be able to read (with contact lenses or glasses if neccessary) the number plate of a
parked car from 20 meters.
If you do require contact lenses or glasses to do this then they must be worn at all times while driving.
This Eyesight test will be carried out before your driving test commences and if you fail to meet the requirements
then your driving test will not proceed any further. Therefore you need to make sure that your eyesight is up to the
required standard before comencing with your driving lessons.

knowledge as possible about the rules and regulations of the roads. The best place to start would be the
Highway Code you should read it from cover to cover and try to retain as much information from it as possible.
This will certainly get your driving carear off on the right foot and will make the lessons with your
driving instructor even more productive.
You should also consider purchasing some PC software that allows you to practice your Hazard Perception and for your driving theory test.
